The shows featured speakers were: Ezechiel Copic, Partner at cLabs Inc. Ezechiel works on the Celo platform, focused on official sector outreach and engagement. Ezechiel is a former central banker, having spent many years at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in a variety of roles, focused on the understanding and implementation of monetary policy for the Federal Reserve System. Additionally, he also served as Director of Central Banks & Public Policy at the World Gold Council, advising central banks on gold reserves management. Ezechiel is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Digital Currency Governance Consortium, and serves as Team Vice Lead for the Digital Currency Global Initiative, a collaborative effort by ITU and Stanford University. Sid Jain & Arpit Agarwarl, Co Founders of DeFiDollar, which is an index of stablecoins that uses Defi primitives to stay near the dollar mark and subsidize the collateralization ratio. An index provides a way to diversifying crypto-dollar positions to dampen the downside if a particular stablecoin like Tether falls (partially or completely) from its peg. In this episode we continued to explore all aspects of the stablecoin ecosystem, including collateralizing real world assets and new consensus algorithms. Our featured speakers: Jason Jones — Commercial Lead, Centrifuge, a decentralized asset lending protocol that was the first real world asset approved via the MakerDAO governance as collateral to mint DAI. Jason previously was an Entrepreneur-In-Residence at ConsenSys; Co-Founder and CEO of the Cardinal Rose Group, a fintech holding company; and Co-Founder and CEO of LendIt Fintech, one of the world’s largest fintech events companies. Jason currently also serves as an advisor to True North, a fintech software consulting firm. Earlier Jason worked as a portfolio manager/analyst at J. Goldman & Co., Goldman Sachs, Cambridge Associates, and Fidelity. Jason holds an MBA from the Johnson School at Cornell University and a BS from Babson College Xiaohan Zhu —CEO of Decentralized Finance Labs, a startup working on a low volatility cryptocurrency (Meter) without the oracle, counter party and regulatory risks. Previously, Xiaohan ran a VC fund and was a Managing Director at JD Capital, a large private equity firm in China. Xiaohan had executive experience in Marketing, Product Management, Strategy and Engineering at Huawei, Microsoft, Sony, and Motorola. Xiaohan has an MBA from Wharton, an MSEE from UC San Diego, and a BSEE from Tsinghua University. Tom Meredith — Co-Founder and CEO Of BitMinutes, a cryptocurrency based on International (ISO) Banking Standards which provides secure liquidity for P2P lenders and democratizes P2P lending to denominations as small as $10. Mr. Meredith has decades of financial technology start up and Wall St. experience. He pioneered online payment processing with P2P Cash a global money transfer solutions company that used smart contracts to reduce cost and transfer fees on bank-to-bank transfer. Tom has a Mechanical Engineering Degree from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard.

In this episode we continued to explore all aspects of the stablecoin ecosystem, including CBDCs (central banks digital coins) with these great panelists: Dr. Chuanwei David Zou, – Chief Economist of Wanxiang Blockchain and Associate Research Fellow of The People’s Bank of China (since 2014). Dr. Zou was previously the Chief Economist of Bitmain and held various positions in China Investment Corporation (CIC) from 2006 to 2015. Dr. Zou has a Ph.D. in Economics from Tsinghua University, Mid-Career MPA from Harvard University, M.A. in economics and B.S. in Statistics from Peking University. Thibaut Sahaghian – CEO of Multis, which provides crypto-first business banking services to help companies make the most of their fiat & cryptocurrency funds. Thibaut graduated from Sciences Po Paris and started his career as an investment banker at Nomura and BNP Paribas. He has been a blockchain enthusiast since 2014. In 2015, he further discovered crypto’s potential while campaigning for a major French political candidate running for office, when he investigated blockchain applications for online and decentralized voting. He later joined Stratumn, a blockchain enterprise software company backed by the Nasdaq where he became first sales and learnt the hard way how to sell this technology to financial institutions!
